The Apothecary Diaries
Maomao is a young girl who grew up in the red-light district, learning everything she could about herbs, poisons, and medicine from her foster father. After being kidnapped and sold as a servant to the Emperor’s palace, she tries to keep her head down and act like a "simple" maid. But when she hears that the royal infants are mysteriously dying, she can't help but step in and solve the mystery using her medical knowledge. This historical mystery is about a smart, cynical girl trying to survive the dangerous politics of the Inner Court while being obsessed with testing poisons on herself.
